Everyday Track API
Package tracking, delivered as JSON. Secure bearer keys, full shipment timelines, and 15 starter credits per account.
Preview implementation. The published endpoint changes only after a site release.
Quickstart
- Contact sales to request API key access.
- Our team reviews your request and arranges access with acceptance of the API Customer Agreement Version 1.0. Submitting a request does not automatically issue a key.
- Once you have a key, keep it in your server’s environment and send an authorized tracking number.
curl --request POST 'https://everydaytrack.org/api/public/v1/tracking' \
--header "Authorization: Bearer $EVERYDAY_API_KEY" \
--header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
--data '{"tracking_number":"YOUR_TRACKING_NUMBER"}'Track a package
/api/public/v1/trackingHTTPS only. Send Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY and Content-Type: application/json. The body accepts only tracking_number: 1–60 letters, numbers or hyphens. Maximum request size: 2 KB. Query parameters are not supported.
Everyday Track handles the request and retrieves carrier data through TrackingMore. EVD numbers use Everyday shipment updates. No carrier scan, location, time or delivery date is invented.
Response fields
Successful responses contain data and request_id. Fields vary by shipment source; dates may be null and timelines may be empty.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| tracking_number | Requested tracking number; linked private carrier numbers are not exposed. |
| carrier / status / delivered | Carrier identity, available shipment status, and delivery marker. |
| estimated_delivery | Available source-supplied estimate, otherwise null. EVD estimates may be sender-provided. |
| events[] | Newest first: time, description, location and source; EVD entries also include event_type. |
| freshness | Carrier responses may be cached; not a guarantee of a new scan. |
| request_id | Reference to include when contacting support. |
Headers: X-Request-ID, X-API-Credits-Remaining, and the compatibility alias X-API-Allowance-Remaining. Responses are not stored in shared HTTP caches.
Credits & limits
- 15 free starter credits per account, granted once when the first key is created. Creating more keys does not add credits.
- One accepted lookup costs one credit, including cached results, pending (202) and not-found (404) results.
- A positive balance can start a lookup: 0.1 credits becomes −0.9. Zero or negative balances cannot start another lookup; no automatic charges.
- Invalid requests, provider-denied requests and temporary provider failures consume no credit. Interrupted requests may remain reserved for support review.
- One in-flight lookup per account and 30 accepted attempts per minute, shared across all keys. Five active keys maximum; keys expire after 90 days.
- One-time bundles: 15 credits for $0.81, 30 for $1.62, or 60 for $3.24. The subscription grants 150 credits each subscription month and bills $5 every week until canceled. Billing updates are verified when you open or refresh your API account. Usage history groups months in America/Chicago; starter credits do not reset monthly.
Errors
400 / 413 / 415Invalid body, oversized request, or wrong content type. Correct the request before retrying.
401 / 403Missing, invalid, expired or revoked key; inactive account or provider permission unavailable.
429Credits exhausted, request already in progress, or request rate exceeded. Check the error code and Retry-After header.
503Tracking is temporarily unavailable, including when Everyday’s provider capacity is exhausted. Retry later or contact support. Customer credits are refunded on known failures.
Request-level errors use error at the top level. Tracking-source errors are inside data. Do not retry indefinitely: use a delay and honor Retry-After.
Availability & support
Agreement Version 1.0 commits to 99% monthly availability under Schedule A exclusions, measured in America/Chicago. This is a contractual commitment, not a verified historic uptime report.
Eligible paid customers may request a 10% recurring monthly fee credit if availability falls below 99%, within 30 days after month-end. Annual fees are divided by 12; free accounts have no monetary availability credit. Claims require review; credits are not granted automatically.
